17 weeks continued

I forgot to mention a few things,

I still haven't felt you move, I thought I did a couple nights ago, but now I am pretty sure it wasn't. I have thankfully not been sick, until last night. We went to a place called BJ's brewery with our dear friends the Scotts. Clint really likes the pizza there and well Brittany and I are awful at having to chose where to go. CJ and I split a pizza, it's deep-dish style and we got to pick out all of our toppings. CJ was excited because our pizza had 9 toppings and Clint and Brittany's only had 8. Well, I didn't even make it home with mine, but that was the first time in a while I had gotten sick.

Let's see, oh and I won't have to be buying any more maternity clothes. Thanks to my amazing friends Laura and Allyson, my closet has a full maternity section now!

And let's not forget the AMAZING weather He has given us these past two days! I have been outside, pretty much all day both days! I think my vitamin D need is completely meet for the past two days.

17 weeks and counting

Yesterday we officially turned 17 weeks! I can't believe we are already 17 weeks but at the same time, time seems to be dragging.......... we are so eager to meet our sweet baby! In 9 more days we get to find who He has blessed us with! At first I just knew we were having a boy. I was kinda sad because I thought bows and ruffles would be so much fun, but in the past week or so I have realized that I am scared, to tears literally, to have a girl. Why you ask? Because I was one! Oh my goodness, I can not imagine having to raise me. I think my mom is a saint, looking back at all that I put her through. I am surprised she isn't in the crazy house!! I can't imagine all the shoes, clothes, bows, purses, make-up, etc. that goes along with a girl. And well let's not even think about hormones and boys!

I think in some ways that the world is even harder for girls these days. With all the pressure to be thin and look "hot". My prayer, not only to have a healthy baby, but that we are able to instill the values of Christ in our child, no matter what their gender, and to value themselves as a precious treasure and child of Him.

To our sweet little one,

In about 23 more weeks you will make your debut into this beautiful, though harsh world. Your mommy and daddy are so eager to meet you and finally see your beautiful face that took 9 months to perfect. We think and dream of what you will be like, who you will look like, how big you will be, to learn your sweet personality.

We have dreamed of you for a long time, when we were dating and knew that we would get married one day, we dreamt of you. We talked about, and still do, what we are looking forward to doing when you get here. We can't wait to have family pictures made, we are so excited about family vacations, there are so many places we want to take you!  We have plans to go to baseball games, the Rangers of course, and to basketball games, Go Mavs! Your daddy can't wait to coach your t-ball team and Little Dribblers team, and mommy will be there cheering you on! We love to go to the pool and to the lake, grill out and sit on the back porch. I am getting excited just typing this!

We love you more than we ever even knew possible.  And we can't wait to show you this beautiful world that He has made.

Caving and Cravings

Well we are caving in and finding out what the sex of our peanut is! I know that we said we were going to wait and we wanted it be a surprise but it is soooo hard!

We go through names everyday, well not actually we, more me. I will like one name one day and then the next day, I can not imagine calling that name out for years and years. I like a lot of names, but mainly for other people's children. :)And CJ really wants to know, he wasn't that excited about not finding out, and we want to get the room together, all painted and decorated for our sweet one.

So in two weeks from today we find out what we are having!!! :) CJ thought for the first little bit that we were having a boy, now he is convinced it is a girl. I felt really strongly that we were having a boy at the first, now I don't feel strongly one way or the other. I kinda am thinking a boy, but just because I thought that at the beginning. We had a sono for fun the other night, a friend who works in L&D was at work so we ran up to her hospital to see if we could get a sneak peak of our sweet baby. I think he was excited to see us too because he was hilarious! He was flipping, and spinning, and just really dancing a little jig. We got a good shot of baby H's privacy, but we just couldn't tell from the picture who we were looking at. :)

And as far as the cravings, honestly I am not having any real cravings. I could say that our sweet little one is like his mommy and loves Mexican food, but I think that is just Mommy. ;) I could eat Mexican food everyday, and that has not just been since I had a bun in the oven. We ate mexican food yesterday after church and it was yummy yummy!  I am so glad we have a posados close to us, it was one of our favorites when we lived Tyler.

After lunch we ran by a little resale shop, and CJ got a baby carrier. He said he wanted one but the baby bjorn ones at babies-r-us was $100! We found the exact same one at the resale shop and it was only $20, a much better deal in my book. Here is my sweet hubby getting practice before baby H arrives.

Oh what a beautiful day!

Hello dear friends! I hope that your weekend was wonderful, even though the weather may not have been. We both had to work Saturday, but I thankfully was off Sunday! Sunday morning worship was wonderful, Kevin our Pastor just got back from Israel and Palestine; went to lunch with my girlfriends in my cell group to celebrate Christal's overdue birthday; went to Target and finally got some maternity clothes (they were much needed, my britches we too small and squishing baby H); and went to the grocery store. It was nasty and rainy outside, so I was glad that I had to do some chores inside. While at Target I bought a prenatal yoga video, and I did it when I got home. It was so much fun and I really enjoyed it.

Monday was a day of work for us both again and I had cell group. I love Monday night's with my girlfriends, getting to spend time in the word, hear what God is saying and doing in their lives, and getting to share what He has placed on my heart. They are such amazing God-fearing women, and they have been such an amazing support for me. I am very thankful for each and every one of them and am so glad God has brought us all together.

 At church on Sunday I noticed some familiar faces that I hadn't seen in years. A girl I went to high school but was a year younger than me 's family was there. They have moved into our neighborhood a few streets over from us. Her younger sister is 20 and lives here, she is  applying to nursing school for next semester and is going to start coming to our cell group. And today I got to enjoy this beautiful weather! I woke up and got to spend some much needed QT with Him, did my yoga video again :), and spent a few minutes outside in this wonderful weather! I also went over to my sister's and showed her how to coupon!

Is it summer yet?

I don't know about your family, but our house is so ready for summertime! I am tired of the cold. I like it for a few days, 3 days is pretty much my limit. And then I like to have warm ski clothes on and the heat going full blast when I am indoors. CJ loves the cold too, when we are skiing, but like me he prefers it to be above 20 degrees most days, although he is not into the 90 degree weather that I so enjoy. 

Mostly though we are ready to meet this sweet peanut that is growing inside of me. Isn't it amazing that it took our Father only 7 days to make this enormous marvelous world we live in but the miracle of life takes 9 months! We are such profound, amazing creations of His that we take 40x as long to perfect and prepare our lives in our mother's womb than it took Him to create Earth!

Here are the first pictures of our sweet baby. I forgot to post these earlier, and now in 3 more weeks we will have new pictures of our precious lamb!

Oh and we have caved and decided to find out what we are having. I really thought that we would be able to wait and let it be a surprise, but that is not happening. CJ really wants to paint the nursery and all of the gender neutral things we have found look boyish to me, which will just not work if we are having a little girl. 

I have had several people asking me what I think our baby is.  I honestly have to say that I don't have a strong feeling either way, at first I thought we were definitely having a precious baby boy. I craved meat and bread, and just weird fatty food that I normally don't crave. I couldn't eat fruits or veggies, and thought well there is definitely a little CJ growing. But I guess the week before Christmas that strong feeling went away, and now I don't have a clue. CJ thinks that we are definitely having a little girl. He is preparing himself mentally I think, and always calls our sweet one by a girl name and talks about painting pink and buying pink things. He is so precious with Allie Joy that I know he would be great with a little girl, but he loves those crazy, rowdy nephews of our that he will be amazing with little boy too. 

Hope that you are keeping warm during this crazy cold weather! Hopefully it will warm up soon! In the meantime we are just waiting for summertime....

Nameless

I never know what to title my blogs, every name I come up with seems silly. So this one is to remain nameless. So what has happened since I last posted...

Saturday my sweet mother-in-love came to teach me how to sew! My mom got me a sewing machine for Christmas and my sweet brother-in-love gave me a gift card to JoAnn's fabrics, so we went and got some fabric, a pattern for a sweet little girl dress and pant outfit. After getting stuff from JoAnn's we went and had some yummy lunch from Chick-fil-A. Then we came back to my house and got to sewing. It was tons of fun, although I am not the fastest or greatest at it yet, I will get better. Here are some pictures of what I have made.

And this is the back! I think it turned out super cute, and hopefully Christie or I will have a girl, if not I will just have to find someone to give this too!

And Saturday CJ had his first class for TeachTexas, where he is getting his teaching certificate for high school math. I was thinking that this class would probably be small, like 20 people, boy was I wrong. CJ said that there were at least 200 people in there!! I guess with the economy people are realizing that teaching is a good career that is always in need, or at least it seems that way. 

Then Sunday we went to church and I was not feeling very well after so my amazing Hubby went to the grocery store (which we desperately needed). Well, when we were getting ready to leave church it started SNOWING! This is what it looked like after about an hour and half of snowing

Isn't that awesome!! I can't believe we actually had snow that stuck to the ground for 2 years in a row!!

And today, well today I had another doctors appointment. It was short and sweet. I got in there, got my blood pressure and weight, she listened to the heartbeat, reassured me that ALL the rooms at Medical City for Women's health were private so I would not be sharing with anyone and didn't have to pay extra to have a private room and that was it. I got in 15 minutes before my appointment, and left 3 minutes before my scheduled time! How awesome is she?!? Love her.

Catching up

Well friends it has been a few weeks since I have blogged, but with the Christmas season, we were just busy bees. I pray that you and your families and a Christ filled Christmas and that you and your families had a great time loving on each other and celebrating the birth of our Savior.


We had opened up our presents with our families the day before Christmas and on Christmas day I had to work. Ugh, life in a hospital, gotta love it. Actually it wasn't that bad and when I got home CJ and I exchanged our gifts. CJ is amazing, and made me a bookcase on steroids!! Have I mentioned how amazing he is?

I can't wait to start filling it up with memories we are making! He started making this in October, the 25th to be exact, so it took him exactly 2 months. The last week, the week of Christmas was probably the hardest week for him because Monday morning when he woke up the whole right side of his face didn't work! We went to the doctor that afternoon and he was diagnosed with Bells Palsy. He affectionately called it Jingle Bells Palsy. :) For those that might not know what that actually is, it's a viral attack on the nerves or nerve in your face. He started out with his ear bothering him on Friday, which on Monday we learned was an ear infection, and that is how Bells Palsy normally begins. Monday will be 3 weeks, but he can now blink, which was why working on the bookcase was hard the last week, and can halfway smile. Here is a picture of him after we got home from the doctor with his eye patch on, he is such a good sport.

He is such a funny man! :) Have I mentioned how much I love him?

And on to our bump. I am officially in my second trimester as of today! I am 14 weeks, today, and I am definitely feeling much better than I did in my earlier weeks, but still throwing up and relying on zofran for some days. Our little peanut just doesn't want me to forget they are in there :) Are some pictures from the beginning to now....

12 weeks! Eek!

And finally 13, weeks. I will take my 14 week picture tonight. I can't believe I already look pregnant, but I don't care because I am proud of my bump! 

Oh and we bought our crib yesterday! We absolutely love it! We already moved all the stuff out of the office, put the guest room in the old office, and CJ put the crib up today! So this is the beginning of baby H's room. I am not sure if the crib will stay there, but it's up (it weighs 200 lbs. so I am not sure how many times Hubby will actually move it, so I better make sure it's the "right" spot before asking him again :) ) 

Well I think that is all for now. I am really going to try to update at least once a week. My sweet in-loves bought us a fancy camera for Christmas so I am using it every chance I get, so you will get lots of pictures! :) Isn't that fun!!!
