Thankful

We hope that you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving and hope you remember to give thanks to our God and Father everyday of your life. We had a great week at Lolly and G-Pops. Our whole family ran in the Turkey Trot yesterday, it was so much fun! Our family crossed the finish line in this order, CJ at 31 minutes, G-Pops 33 minutes, Me 43 minutes, Huddy Uncle Matt and Lolly at 46 minutes. We did the 5K and most of us had the goal of just not being last and none of us were!

A First that is not so great

Well this week was our first time to deal with a sick baby. Our poor little man started running a fever sometime on Thursday and we caught it that evening. We took him to the pedi on Friday, on the way to the office he had his first experience throwing up. It was the most awful thing ever. We got a diagnosis of a respiratory virus with orders to use saline and the bulb syringe. Tylenol was our best friend those couple of days. CJ was going to be with H by himself on Saturday since I had to work so he called in some reinforcements, a.k.a. Lolly, who came to help out, and Thankfully by Saturday around 2 the fever was gone. I had decided H and I were not going to go to church today, since CJ plays in the band we thought he should still go. When we woke up this morning, H's 4 month birthday, I immediately noticed a head to toe rash covering his chunky little body. After talking to the pedi who said it was just probably a viral rash and if it was not bothering him don't worry about it, CJ was getting ready to head out the door when our poor little man threw up again! CJ said it was like Rosemary's baby, I had no idea what that even was, and he decided he should probably stay at home with this nervous and uber tired momma.

After the puking episode he shed a few tears then took a nap. He has been all smiles the entire time he has been sick, he's is definitely a little trooper. Here are some pictures of our past month and some of today, I am not sure if the spots show up but trust me, they are there.

He loves his feet

Always smiling

trying to get rid of our fever

today, all smiles even with his speckles

what a ham!

Not ours but His

A week ago today we had Hudson's baby dedication at church. We have known from even before we were pregnant that any children the Lord would bless us with weren't really ours but His. Hudson is not anything we can brag out or say how great of a job we did, because we know that every life belongs to the one who gives life. We thank our Father everyday we get to be with Hudson and know that it is our responsibility to raise him up the way the Word tells us. Of course we can't do it alone and thankfully we have an amazing family that is right there with us every step of the way.

Say Cheese

3 Months

Well I am falling behind on blogging, but life is crazy with a baby and two working parents. We are loving this life the good Lord has blessed us with. Our sweet boys is growing like a weed and we are just soaking up every second we have with him. Here are a few recent pictures...

Hudson is loving his toes and hands, he has found them and gets them into his mouth every second he can. He also is holding his head up like a champ and is getting ready to roll right on over, but not quite there yet.

2 months

So I have been MIA for a while, that's what seems to happen when you have a baby. Here is what's been happening at our home since my last update.

Hudson is 2 months old today! :( I am so sad and happy at the same time
Snoozing after Mommy's bible study this morning

Here are all of his milestones he is hitting
1. He has officially found his hands and love to put them in his mouth whenever he can
2. He smiles on purpose and does it constantly when you talk to him
3. He is cooing and babbling a lot now, he will focus on anything he can find and have a serious conversation with it, he is so cute.
4. He is staying up a lot more during the day
5. We are out of our 0-3 month old clothing and are in 3-6 month clothing
6. At our 6 1/2 week check-up he weighed 12 lbs 3 oz (we go again on Friday to get our shots :( and we will see how much he has gained since then....update: H was 14 lbs 3.5 oz and 24 in long! 92 and 84th percentiles!

Here are a few pictures to catch you up on this sweet big boy
First time going to church

Love love love the moby wrap, leaving church, he did great!

Go Rangers!

Here is what else has been happening at our home:
Mommy got her hair all chopped off. H started grabbing it and pulling it, not on purpose but it was still frequent enough that the hair had to go.

And Daddy got a new job! He actually started today at Bluefish TV or Right Now Ministries. They make, produce, and sell ministry videos. He is going to be on the sales team, which we know he will be great at! He is very excited and Mommy just got off the phone with him and he is having a great day! Friday was his last day at Lowe's, it was bittersweet. We are so thankful that God opened this door of opportunity up for him and we know that this is just the beginning!

We hope that your family is enjoying this cooler weather we are having if you are in Texas. My sweet baby is waking from his nap so I have to go, but please if you get a second today say a prayer for my sweet husband and his new job.

1 Month Stats

Well our sweet baby boy turned 1 month on Saturday, yea I know I am a few days late. We went to the doctor a week ago wednesday for our check-up and here are Mr. Man's stats

Height: 21.5 inches
Weight: 10 lbs 3 oz

I can't believe he is already so big! And yes he did gain 2 lbs. 9 oz in 2 weeks, he is a good eater :)

We also got some medicine for his reflux, a nap nanny for him to sleep in (which he loves!) and mommy is now on a dairy free diet, along with no spicy foods or foods high in acidity. All of these things seem to be working because our reflux has decreased!

I also took Hudson out by myself 2 days ago and then again yesterday. On Tuesday I ventured out to wal-mart, and well lets just say I was a little frazzled by the end. He started screaming because he got hungry and I ended up BF in the subway in Wal-Mart, thank goodness for nursing covers. I sat in the very back booth with my back to everyone and let him fill his little tummy. After about 20 minutes I thought okay if I go and check out he will be full enough for us to get home and then eat some more. Well I got in line behind this sweet young couple, they were both 18 and had been married about 3 weeks. Only thing was is that she was a couponer. So needless to say we were in line a very very long time and before the checker was even done scanning our cart my precious lamb was crying again, and cried the whole way home. This made for one very frazzled mommy. I ended up just taking the cold stuff out of the car and putting bags and all into the fridge. Oh and if you wondered the coupon girl's bill went from $292 to $99!! Amazing right?!? CJ asked if I got her number and if we were going to be friends. :) I love him.

I will upload a picture as soon as I get them uploaded onto the computer. About to go get my sweet baby boy out of his swing and love on him. Hope you all have a very blessed day.

Reality Check

Okay so I have had a reality check after my last post. That night I think I got about 3 hrs. sleep total and needless to say yesterday I did not run or do any physical activity, besides take care of my #1 priority. And last night after dinner and catching up on my secret addiction, Secret Life of the American Teenager, I went to bed. And this was done before 9 o'clock. But you know what, I am not upset and don't see it as a failure, because our sweet baby is my #1 priority.

But to finish out from 2 days ago here is what I ate
Bowl of Honey bunches of oat
granola bar
peanut butter and jelly sandwich
another apple

Yesterday
coffee
granola bar
6 in. chicken bacon ranch subway sandwich
single serving bag of baked sour cream and onion chips
bowl of strawberries, a mango, and 1/4 cup grapes
grilled chicken salad with avocado, tomato, shredded cheese, grilled chicken, and light ranch
fiber one bar with peanut butter spread on top
3 chocolate quaker rice cakes

Today
I ran this morning, after a good nights sleep
coffee
grilled chicken salad, just like last nights except no shredded cheese
apple
fiber one bar with peanut butter on top
grilled chicken, 1 breast
salad with light ranch and no cheese
1/2 cup broccoli
1 chocolate rice cake

Tomorrow we go for our 1 month check up! I know that this precious lamb asleep on my chest is going to weigh at least 8 1/2 pounds. I am anxious to see what she says about our reflux. He has not had any big episodes like our 911 experience, PTL, but just a few small little gagging episodes that he has been able to clear himself.

And of course here is what everyone really wants

Baby Weight

I am happy to report that after 3 weeks and 4 days I have lost 35 lbs of my baby weight! Now yes I did gain 50 lbs, but I am still proud of myself. Well actually I haven't really done anything, my little man is just a good eater :).

But me not really doing anything changes today. I have tried to run a few times this week but on days that I haven't been able to run I haven't done anything. Well today I did 1/2 of a P90X workout then 1/2 of the ab work-out video. I am going to do some sort of physical activity everyday. CJ has done P90X all week, I am so proud of him. :)

And CJ and I have radically changed our eating habits. I am also going to blog about what I eat. So for today here has been what has gone into my kisser. We realized that if we want to be good examples to our sweet baby boy then we needed to change what we were doing.

1. Coffee
2. Granny Smith Apple
3. Honey Bunches of Oats with Fat Free Milk
4. A teaspoon of peanut butter
5. Vanilla Yogurt
6. A grilled chicken breast

My goal is to lose the rest of my baby weight and an additional 10 lbs at least and to run the white rock half marathon in December. My goal is to have the weight lost by my 26th birthday in October.

So here's to losing the weight and living a healthier lifestyle for our sweet baby boy.

What a difference a day makes

I can't believe our little man is 3 weeks old! Just this week we have accomplished so many new things!

1. Mommy cooked dinner for the first time, shredded chicken tacos, yummy!!!
2. Hudson moved from newborn diapers to size 1's!
3. Hudson moved out of his newborn size clothes and into 0-3 month size
4. I ran 2 days in a row, and actually ran like I used to :)
5. We took our first trip to Athens yesterday! Hudson did great!!
6. I got 4 hrs of straight sleep, last night actually!
And most importantly NO more gagging episodes!!!!  PTL!!!!!

We had a great visit with my grandparents and are sad to see them leave today.  We may go up there to visit them for Thanksgiving, my grandpa is turning 80 so we will have to help him celebrate!! We had dinner at my moms yesterday and got to visit with them and see all of Hudson's cousins!

Here are some pictures of the week!
