Rekindled Friendship

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him." How awesome is this? I have been praying and begging Jesus to draw me closer to His heart. I long to hear him, to be close to him, to feel him next to me. I want to know His will for my life, I want to be in the middle of it, trusting Him completely and not relying on my own incapable self.

Today like the past few days, I have prayed this prayer specifically, and guess what. He delivered! I can't believe how little faith I had that I would be able to hear His calling, but today it was easy. He just smacked me in the face with it.

Today I got the chance to speak with a dear friend who I had lost touch with for the past couple of years. It was great to hear from her and I am glad that we have reconnected. I was glad to know that I am not the only one who struggles with hearing His calling, hearing Him speak to me, knowing what His will is for me. Even though I was raised in a Christian home, and was saved at a young age, I have just recently began actually having a relationship with Him. But He still used me today to help an even "younger" believer who is married to a non-believer.

Tonight my prayer is for my sweet friend, who longs to know Him more, to continue to seek Him and His will for her life. And for her sweet husband who I know loves her dearly but is walking through this world in the dark, that he would find the Light and have a spot for himself in Heaven next to his sweet wife praising the Maker forever in Heaven.

Tonight this is the verse I will cling to because we all will face trials while on this Earth but He promises good for us in eternity,

"Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him." James 1: 12
